A week in Magoebaskloof…

So I recently took a week’s trip to Magoebaskloof in the Limpopo province in SA, and it was one of the best trips away.  After finally choosing accommodation we  packed up the car up for a 3,5 hour drive to Haenertsburg.  This place is one of my favorite places in the world, it is quite, you can take forest drives, swim in lakes, and the views are amazing.  We booked into a new place, (well new to us :), it is a cottage on an organic blueberry farm in Magoebaskloof called Blueberry Heights, and this place has the most fantastic views of the Ebenezer Dam.  In the morning the mist would roll in, and then the unfold to reveal the amazing picturesque views…

The Blueberry farm is organic, not green, not Eco-whatever, but certified organic, which is what we love.  When we got to the cottage shown in the pictures, there was the most delicious blueberry muffins, even Hubby approved them and he hates blueberry muffins.  The hospitality at this Turaco cottage was/is by far the best I have had in this area, and I cannot wait to get back to this amazing place.  I got some quite/down time, reconnected with myself and the family, disconnected from facebook and Instagram 🙂

I wholeheartedly recommend this quaint little cottage next time you find yourself in this part of South Africa, it is such a gem (and this coming from a germaphobe, no camping, only glamping kinda girl!!)

Have you any amazing gems you have discovered on your travels? Please share them as I will try anything once…
